Class and Workshop Participation
Workshop participation is restricted to women and girls age 12 and up. Due to the mature nature of some of the content, girls age 12 to 15 must have an accompanying parent or guardian. Girls age 16 and 17 must have a parent or guardian sign the workshop waiver before the first day of the workshop begins.
Males, other than the co-instructor(s), are prohibited from attending or observing the women’s self-defense classes and workshops.
If you are unable to attend a class or workshop you have registered to attend, another female may be sent in your place at no extra charge. Notification must be made in writing via our Contact page, and notifications must received at least two business days prior to the event. Only one transfer per purchase is permitted. There is no processing fee for registration transfers.
In the unlikely event that a class or workshop is cancelled, all registered participants will be notified immediately and receive a full refund.
Waiver and Release of Liability
All self-defense class and workshop participants must have a signed waiver of liability on file (a parent or legal guardian must sign for all minors). Waivers are collected at the beginning of class before instruction begins.
The Waiver and Release of Liability includes that fact that while all reasonable precautions are taken to provide a safe training environment due to the very nature of contact inherent in practicing self-defense techniques, a possibility of injury exists.
The Waiver and Release of Liability states that while the A.C.T. Women’s Self-Defense curriculum been designed to provide you with the safest and most effective way to survive and escape a physical assault, there is never any guarantee that any technique will be effective in any circumstance.
